Technology Dynamics, Inc. (TDI) is a privately owned company with annual sales of approximately $9 million. Founded in 1976, the company presently employs approximately 100 professionals, of whom 30% are engineering staff, including 12 engineers with advanced degrees.

We have a strong focus on providing Power Conversion Solutions for the most demanding applications and customers. By utilizing our comprehensive line of standardized products we are able to provide modified and custom solutions to solve the most vexing application issues.

In 1990, TDI acquired both Nova Electric and Mid Eastern Industries. Each company had very specific niches and technical leadership positions in the power conversion field for many years prior to the acquisition.

A brief description of our company and its divisions follows:

As a vertically integrated manufacturer, Technology Dynamics Inc. has the ability to control all aspects of our products in house. We provide custom engineering for the design and packaging of our products through the modification or custom design of PC boards, transformers, and sheet metal.

While many companies offer consumer products “modified” or “ruggedized” for certain applications, TDI’s products are designed from inception for harsh environment Commercial, Industrial, and Military applications. Many of TDI’s products have been successfully qualified to Military Environmental Standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-901, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-1399, with still on full-time active duty after 35+ years in the field!

Robust construction and extremely high reliability are features inherent to TDI’s products, which all feature very low MTTR and high MTBF figures. Equally as important, standing behind each product with the TDI nameplate is a company with over 30 years of experience in the engineering design and quality manufacturing of truly rugged power conversion equipment and systems. – the same rugged power conversion equipment and systems trusted by all of the major Defense Prime Contractors, all branches of the American DOD (and US-Friendly Defense Departments worldwide,) and industrial firms the world over in the most demanding applications in existence.

Technology Dynamics, Inc. (TDI) manufacturers high reliability Switching Mode Power Supplies, and DC-DC converters, in the range 150W to 25KW and larger. The company has over 3500 Standard, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf, modified, and full custom power supply designs. Most of its sales come from modifying these standard products and purely customized designs.

TDI manufacturers and sells military units for land, avionic, and shipboard applications. These units meet the stringent requirements of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-16400, MIL-STD-901, etc.

TDI is also heavily involved in the telecommunications market. We have unique highly reliable products with high power in small packages and features such as: Redundancy, Battery Backup, and Low Voltage Battery Disconnect.

Nova Electric Division was founded in 1970 and purchased by Technology Dynamics in 1990. Nova supplies rugged UPS Systems, DC-AC Inverters, and Solid-State Frequency Converters designed for use in severe-environment and military applications. Typical applications include shelters, vehicular communications systems, and military-related installations. The company also supplies product to commercial utilities, mines, steel mills, airports, etc. Nova’s products are commercially-based, and use some commercial components – however, they are acclimatized to withstand American and NATO shock, vibration, humidity and EMI military specifications. Nova Electric is deeply entrenched in military-related applications.

Mid Eastern Industries Division was founded in 1958 and purchased by Technology Dynamics in 1990. Mid Eastern Industries (M-E) provides ultra low noise, high precision linear power supplies to commercial, military, research institutes, university, and laboratory customers. Mid-Eastern’s product line also boasts advanced, innovative technology as featured in its high power, high voltage power supplies for sonar systems.
